Will this light kit fit my brand new ceiling fan or my current ceiling fan?
If your fan currently does not have a light kit attached to the bottom of the fan, and if your fan has a cap similar to those shown below, this light kit should work with your fan. The bottom cap of your fan must have a threaded hole in the center of it.  This light kit will have a threaded pipe coming out the top which will thread into the center hole of your ceiling fan.

If your ceiling fan already has a light kit attached our light may not work on your fan.  For our lights to work you must be able to remove your light from your fan, and after it is removed a cap must still remain on the bottom of your fan (see images below.) If you remove your light from the fan and the fan does not have a cap like those shown below which would have a threaded hole, then our ceiling fan light kits will not work.  Please note Lamp Depot does not sell replacement caps.

Style 2 Note:  Some light kits can be difficult to install on cap Style 2 which is held on by two screws going straight up into the fan. You may need to use an offset L-Shaped screwdriver to attach the cap back onto the fan. On some wider light kits you may find it easier to modify the light by drilling two holes through the top of the ceiling fan light kit to allow you to more easily screw the cap back onto the fan.
