These fans are a step down from Performance grade but still
have a high level of durability and function. Some fans which use a 188x20mm
or larger motor come close to matching the Performance Grade fans in terms

A ceiling fan starts with a motor. The most powerful, durable
and expensive motor is a "Stack" or "K55" style motor. This
design was developed for ceiling fans in the late 1970's and
brought ceiling fans back from near extinction.
The power allows for 14 - 16 degree blade pitch and use of wider blades so you get more
air movement. So durable, the motor can stay locked in position for 3 days without
damage
It's known for staying silent for years and years , carries a lifetime warranty, never
needs oil and can move noticeable air at slow speed.

| The "pancake or direct drive" motor comes in nearly
a dozen sizes. More than 90% of the fans purchased over the last decade use a variation of this design. Its a motor
that is price sensitive; air movement, durability , performance rise and fall with its
cost. When done right , an excellent motor and often has lifetime warranties. Low
Grade promotional fans use small motors to move narrow blades at near 10 degree pitches.
The result is much lower air movement. Often having lifetime warranties.
