Ceiling fan prices can vary greatly due to the differences in how
fan motors are built and the type of exterior materials used in the finish process. Often the same manufacturer will make different grades or
qualities of fans in which will vary greatly in price. The price ranges of ceiling fans are similar to the price range you see when
shopping for other household
appliances. The price differences in appliances are due to differences in quality,
performance, function, and durability. The same is true with ceiling fans. A ceiling fan is an appliance wrapped in furniture and lighting. The use of furniture grade blades, the use of high performance motors,
unique housing designs, and unique finishes will add to the manufacturing cost of a ceiling fan.

Never use a light dimmer to run a ceiling fan motor. Using a dimmer will cause
noise and can damage your fan motor or components.

Fans may move due to poor quality or poor installation, but not just from hanging from a pole. Ceiling fans on long poles are not prone to move any more than
ceiling fans on short poles. If a fan wobbles the installer can typically spend a few extra minutes to either reduce or minimize the movement.
My $400 TV has a 1 year warranty? How come a $30 fan has a lifetime warranty?
Warranties in the fan industry should not be construed
as an indication of product quality. Ceiling fans tend to have lifetime warranties whether they are selling for $39 or $200. All fan
warranties are "Limited Warranties" covering only the internal motor
bearings and windings of the fan. External things like fan finishes,
blades, light fixtures, and controls are only covered for one year. Never buy a fan based on the warranty. The true
quality of the fan is dependant upon the materials used to construct it
rather than the warranty used to market it. Remember a warranty is only as good as the company issuing it.
What does a ceiling fan do to make me feel cool?
Ceiling fans keep you cool not by lowering the temperature in you room but by creating a wind chill effect as
air moves against your skin. Its the same principle as feeling a gentle breeze on a hot day.
